I'm sure I can spell your name better than you can

Right now I'm in the midst of an email conversation with a tech person. I sign every email "Thanks, Brenna" and she starts every email response with "Hi Brenda." It's like a passive aggressive way of saying that my parents can't spell.

    Thanks, Joreka (or Theresa...or Jorita...or dorito...whatever).

  2. I can remember having to explain your name to people. That's pretty funny, now that I think of it, seeing as my name's weird too. :)

  3. reminds me of a time my niece called her housepainter and said hi, this is andrea. he replied, hey, adriane! and that's the way it stayed. he never did get it right. :)

  5. I get called Nicki, or my name is spelled Vicki. I spell it for people and also sign everything with "Vicky" and yet...

  6. that is hilarious. my kid's name is clara and everyone says/spells Clair/Claire or "Claira"- which is totally weird

  7. No one can spell my last name. When I was a teacher, I would get emails from parents to my school address, which meant that they had to spell Birken correctly to get the email to me. But in the body of the email, it always said Mrs. Birkin or Mrs. Berkin or Mrs. Berken or my personal favorite Mrs. Bricken. I feel like it's the theory that given enough monkeys enough time with typewriters, eventually they'll write Shakespeare, except that the random Monkey name generator never seems to hit upon the correct spelling.
